Meet Dr. Rudisill & Family

Dr. Rudisill hails from Gastonia, where his family has been deeply rooted in the community for over 120 years, with significant involvement in the textile industry (Carlton Yarn Mills, Cherryville), the distribution of consumable goods (Rudisill Enterprises, Gastonia), and philanthropy, all marked by pride and integrity.

He began his education at Gaston Day School and later transferred to The McCallie School in Chattanooga, graduating in 1988. Dr. Rudisill earned his B.A. in History from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1993.

During a gap year from 1993 to 1994, Dr. Rudisill lived in Colorado, working with Vail Associates as a Ski Patrol Associate with the National Ski Patrol and as a Client-Relation Representative. While in Vail, an emergency dental procedure sparked his interest in dentistry, inspired by his experiences helping others in health-related situations on the mountain. This led him to pursue dental school.

In May 1999, Dr. Rudisill graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia and began his career in private practice, initially working as an associate to Dr. Tom Ellis, his father-in-law, in Shelby, NC.

Dr. Rudisill met his wife, Cookie, in Chapel Hill, and they have been married since 1996. Cookie graduated from UNC Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy in 1995. She has over 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is currently employed at College Park Pharmacy in Belmont.

They have two children: Blaine, who graduated from NC State in the spring of 2025. He is currently working on his commercial pilots license. Catherine, who plans to graduate from NC State in 2029 and is majoring in Fashion and Textile Management/Brand Management and Marketing.

Dr. Rudisill and Cookie attend St. Marks Episcopal Church in Gastonia.
